He spies on her
as she takes her bath,
so beautiful and serene,
but then she notices him watching
and, spreading her
wings, the blackbird flies, startled, away
before the cat can catch her.
He spies on her
as she takes her bath,
so beautiful and serene,
but then she notices him watching
and, spreading her
wings, the blackbird flies, startled, away
before the cat can catch her.

Thanks. Verdana and Parson
It was me and my father who were spying on a little bird taking a bath and, originally, the poem had been just about that but then, as you say, the 'Tom'
in 'Peeping Tom' made me think of a tom cat.
I'm quite surprised, but grateful, to receive a cherry for it.
BTW, seeing a bird (the feathered kind) taking a bath
is a really beautiful thing that I hope everyone has a chance to see.

This compact, little poem is beautifully crafted - very clever and I love the twist. Well done on the cherries!
