From Heaven’s hand my love was formed;
from only Heaven did she come;
a true miracle was performed
and all who say ought else are dumb.
She’s proof of a god’s artistry;
proof of Aphrodite as well;
made in her image, all can see.
My love is faith so I can tell.
A heaven from Heaven was sent
a sign of true love’s wonderment;
my light born of a divine spark
stamped with beauty, like Heaven’s mark.
And, should my bright sun ever fade,
Surely she’d go where she was made;
She, an angel like no other,
go to a Heaven worthy of her.

Thankyou, Tina. I was thinking about the impact of Darwinism upon romantic love and this poem came out of that.

Thankyou, Julie. I tried to get the feel of an
old fashioned love poem like the Romantics or the Cavalier Poets.
