On The Stonechat

Stonechat; Nature’s Demosthenes,
your beauty pleads her case with ease.
Your bright black coat and russet breast
says all that needs to be expressed.

When it seems as if men cannot
converse without their fists or force,
your beauty is David’s slingshot
hurled from prickly pulpits of gorse.

Thankyou very much, pia. I'm glad you liked it.

I was just inspired by this bird's remarkable song like 'two pebbles knocked together' and it made me think of the orator Demosthenes with his mouth full of pebbles.
