Totentanz

Now that Netanyahu seems intent on his own Crime of the Century. I've decided to put all poems with Totentanz mentioned in the same place. Don't wait up, I may be some time.

Totentanz

image is PD source wiki commons. Now that Netanyahu is intent on his own Crime of the Century. I thought I'd put all my Guignol, Teutonic Mediaeval, Holocaust, Apocalyptic (basically anything that mentions Totentanz) in the same collection. Don't wait up, it may take some time.

Déjà Vu

Minor edit and picture added Jan 17 It's not about how willing you are to give up your freedom, it's how willing you are to give up mine. Image was last used by the 'IMPERIAL FASCIST LEAGUE' ; this British Fascist Movement was led by Arnold Spencer Leese and operated from 1928 until 1939. I expect they won't be reading this.

After Oświęcim

...because I always write something, around this time of year, about this. Because it did happen, and still happens, in a less methodical way. Because to those who say, 'it can't happen here', I say it can. Original image by xiquinhosilva, fiddled with by author. Source wiki-commons. Used under licence CC2.0-Attribution.

Nearly a hundred years of lies. Image source is https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/history/chm/research/current/nhshistory/e... It's from 1929, so I'm sure it's out of copyright.

I Am Not Starving

Every week or so Ilkley Literature Festival's web-site runs a Creative Writing Challenge called Be All Write. via its Facebook page. I enter from time to time. This week the challenge is to write a poem about The Last (Wo)Man on Earth. https://www.facebook.com/ilkleylitfest/ Anyway, this is mine. Picture author LeBanc (pixabay.com) licence CC.2.0

Kielbasa

This started as a sausage story, (you could always look it up) written a few years ago on Holocaust Day. *Best read between the two poems linked in the footnote.

Antic Hay

Books were burned in Canada [Canada!] last week. In protest at depictions of indigenous peoples. Now, I'm not defending these depictions and if Canada's school libraries want to remove Tintin and others from their shelves, that's fine. I just disagree with people burning books, because people who burn books, as a better writer than me once said, often end up burning people. Anyway, here's this. I wrote it last time I got wound up about book burning.
