Rain will play a big part in this match. We should have started the series earliar. Those one day games and TV money are important but not as important as this.
Freddie and Peterson have got to get right amongst them in the morning. They have got to go after Tate, make him lose his confidence. It's a good batting pitch in good weather but speeds up with a bit of moisture. Showers are predicted on Saturday and lets when the Ossies should be in the crease if all goes well tomorrow.
But anything could happen in this brilliant series. We could be all out by lunch..
Nervous? I am.
Tony. What do you think?
Ralph
Billy Bragg comes from Barking. I've met him a few times and seen him play many a gig. He is a nice fella and plays spin very well. Especially with the minors of South Yorkshire. He is a classic left handed batsman.

Also, I reckon weshould form an ABC team for next summer. I'm serious. Big Tony could be captain and Missi should be wicket keeper.. I play sometimes for a little Arts Centre team so I'm game.
Fish and Liana could make the sarnies and cheer from the pavillion.
Any takers?

Both poppit!
I saw Bauhaus play once the Colchester Institute. Peter Murphy cam on stage in high heels. As he approched the mic he tripped on a cable and fell on his arse.
I laughed like a hyena. I was drinkinking snakebites laced with speed though.
'Bela Lugosi's Dead' is still a classic though.
Perhaps we could get him to open the bowling.

Freddie! what a wonderful human being he is.
An ABC cricket team? Sounds wonderful. The ebullient shirt is our in-house cricketer but I am certainly up for it.
We just have to find someone as bad as us to play against

Australia?
I have red stains on my trousers and can swing it both ways.
When Mrs Shirt isn't looking I have been known to field in the gully.
I can roll a new rubber onto a bat handle while nudging to leg without missing a stroke.
I'll do the white lines on the grass before play starts and bring some cucumber sandwiches.
Can I play please Cap'n Tone?
How refreshing, a thread consisting of old timers! Ah those were the days.
I'm up for it as long as I can play in the slips, (I'd need to see who's wearing 'em first though)
Why is the site SOOOOO slow? I entered my name and number last Friday, and this thread wasn't even here then! I got in 3 mins ago.
Welcome back, Haystack.
And less of the old timers.

Whew! How to make a crisis out of a doddle.

Well... Katrina hits Mississippi!
Glorious.
Ponting is crying like a girl.
Another brilliant game that had it all.
Or course we want it to rain at the Oval. Don't we?
it was rather splendid
who'd have thought that giles and hoggard would be the ones to get the runs
fab stuff
please rain until september
thank you
For the first time in my life I actually watched a whole 2hrs of cricket! can this mean I'm turning into a stereotype Englishman?
It WAS actually 'Katrina and the Waves', lofty.
Anything else going on in the world?
Mississippi hits mykle (fucking hard) as soon as the opportunity arises.
I think if Glenn McGrath's fit the odds will be on the Aussies to level the series, but it shows that they're far too dependent on old players. Best series I've ever seen, though!
