struck a chord... but after three reads, not quite sure...

Just read this for the first time thanks to Story of the Week - Yay! Really liked it. Prose/poetry can be too wanky for me but this does an excellent job. Not sure about "there's always someone standing beside me, smiling" - a bit cheesy for me but other than that - this is ace. Joe

Thanks Lisa for flagging it.. and thanks to all of you for your thoughts =) Joe.. I was trying to describe that feeling you sometimes get in a dream when there's always someone hovering around you (or is that just me?).. it was meant to reflect an eerie sensation.. but I do see your point about it sounding cheesy so I'll have to find a different way to express that.
