Happy Pi Day

Yes, the 14th of march is pi day (3.14 geddit), every true nerds favourite celebration. Ideally Pi day should be celebrated at 1:59 (am or pm, depending who you listen to) but we already missed that in the UK.

Here are some ideas on how to celebrate Pi Day (personally I intend to have pie for dinner) http://wiki.ehow.com/Celebrate-Pi-Day

Thanks, Dan. Also to you. I'm an admitted geek, but this never occured to me...very cool. Am I the only one who thought The Life of Pi was a book about this number? Probably so...
is it not? I havent read it.

My grandfather was a mathematician and at his 90th birthday party recited Pi to 20 places. He then said he used to be able to do 50 places without a sweat. I wonder if he's rolling in his grave right now or quietly reciting the numbers in his sleep...

Yes, it turned out to be a great book, but that was despite not being about Pi, not because of it. I got my fix of maths from Curious Incident (and, of course, from Maddan's own 'Statistics') ...and still can't figure out that puzzle with the three doors - you know the one? Can someone even geekier than me please explain it. Enzo.. www.thedevilbetweenus.com
you *really* do not want to start that one again Enzo http://www.abctales.com/node/158003
