When Does It Stop? by raquel

As self harm seems to crop on here with alarming regularity and yet many of those who feel driven to this particular form of depression, cry for help, mutilation - call it what you will - are unable to explain their passion.

Raquel writes with a raw power and a deep insight into her troubles - and I am sure that we all can understand a little more of the ways of the world from her words:

this so eloquently describes the power of depression, it becomes almost a friend, companion. the one thing you can rely on. this is beautifully conveyed and will resonate with many. Juliet

thank you sooooo much... i thought that this piece wasn't any good... but AHH! i can't thank you enough...

Raquel - it is very good. It needs work and I think that people haven't commented on it because they are afraid of the consequences of saying anything to someone in that position. But be assured that if you can be this articulate about something so close to you then you are on the way out of the problem because you understand what that problem is.
That TC, he hit the nail right on the head. I've been there: you CAN get out.
That TC, I woulnd't necessarily agree that to understand your own depression also gives you a way out. I can relate to the illness becoming a companion and a friend because there are very little people out there who are patient enough or educated enough to understand the disease.: those who betray and neglect you because they think you're just being "miserable." Sometimes you and your illness are all you're left with in the world. Thanks for sharing! ;)

I'm no expert - but I do always think that if you know yourself and you know your problem then you will have a better chance of overcoming that problem. That's why I like Raquel's piece so much - it's not only honest but she has a real insight into herself. I'm not suggesting for a moment that there are easy answers merely hinting that this might be part of the road to salvation.
:) i'm very grateful for alll comments... thank you again!
