Now, who else have I forgotten? No one, I hope - but if you have sent me your details then kick me to dig them back out - and if you have a book to sell, then send it in to me! tcook@abctales.com
What about Chant's 'Papr:Kut'? It's really good.
Martin, your book 'Memory Loss & Longing' arrived yesterday and I was savouring each delicious poem ...however I was horrified to discover we have written poems with the same title - well yours is 'Drunken Angel' mine is 'Drunken Angels' As you wrote yours first perhaps I should change mine just in case you threaten to break both my legs - after all you are from Clapton!!!

i can't claim to have invented the term "drunken angel", I "borrowed" it from a lucinda williams song...
Who is lucinda williams?
Is she from Clapton?
Is she likely to break my legs?

she's an american singer, country and western, very good, a bit miserable but brilliant
she's never been to clapton as far as i know
i did see her in shepherds bush once though
she wasn't breaking any legs at that time
but playing a mean guitar
How mean was this guitar? Did it just not send Christmas Cards or was it really really mean and keep all its money in little purses with padlocks on?
To be a good country and western singer, you HAVE to be a bit miserable - the two are nearly one in the same.
You'd be miserable, too, if your dog died.

the guitar was well mean, didn't smile, and nicked my dinner money
Actually Lucinda Williams is a 'country' singer, country and western is not the same thing. Pedantic, maybe, but most country singers would resent being labelled 'country & western'. It's also, NOT necessay to be miserable in the slightest, to be a good country singer, that's just a non-country fan's idea, and it's crap.
