Top of the Pops

Axed after 42 years. How dare they! This is part of our heritage, like fish and chips or bad defending at corners. The beeb are blaming this new fangled internet thingy and digital TV. Shut it all down I say, half an hour of cheesy music was good enough for me when I was a lad.

Angry of Tunbridge Wells

As a teenager I watched TOTP avidly, however my own teens think it's rubbish and have never bothered with it. There are far better music shows available on sky/digital channels with a much wider choice, I suspect that this is one of the main reasons for the demise of TOTP and I fear that it will only be missed by people who have a touch of nostalgia for the 70's/80's and maybe 90's as it definitely lost it's way after this.
It was all downhill after Pan's People
They changed the format! They made it crap! Bring back DLT! :-) * P * :-) ( Read my blog! - www.oddcourgette.blogspot.com )

The All New Pepsoid the Second!

I remember as a kid when Stevie Wonder was at number one for what seemed like an eternity and being forced to watch him perform it every sodding week by my brainless sister and mother. That put me off for life. TOTP is teeny-bopper shite watched by teeny boppers and even the teeny boppers have moved on. Jude E MTV Generation

I used to watch it when it was just a bit crap. Then they changed it to utterly unbearable.
I think there's been a mistake. It's the crap that radio one peddles and totp has to publicise that's caused its downfall. They shoulda done away with 1-extra, stock-aiken and waterman should never have been conceived and we should KEEP BRITISH MUSIC BRITISH!! boomshackallacka!

There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed -

I've always watched from behind the sofa. It was and is car-crash television. I still watch it and grimace. Not to have to watch that empty-headed blond prat that fronts it at the moment is a relief. Can't someone make a live music show that had the energy of Ready Steady Go? Can you imagine a music TV show giving over the whole 45 minutes to someone like Otis Redding? Still the apogee of pop music TV. The Tube came close. Lets bring back presenters who say 'You groovy fuckers!'.

Did they say that? Oh my tender sensibilities... :-) * P * :-) ( Read my blog! - www.oddcourgette.blogspot.com )

The All New Pepsoid the Second!

Jools Holland didn’t get a mention on ‘Forty Years of F**k’ the other day. I was most aggrieved for him.
