Chocolat... by Archergirl

Thought I'd flag up this delicious little poem from Archergirl¦ just to remind the folks of ABC that she does actually write and not just express her opinions on all and sundry and incur the wrath of Mississippi and co.!

It's a sensual, foil-wrapped chunk of erotica, which, if ever it was needed, is proof that chocolate is a substitute for sex¦ It's not just about chocolate and sex, though! It also says something about cravings¦ desire¦ addiction¦ "diet culture. Just one small criticism¦ the last few lines ("don't deny yourself the pleasure you crave; leave behind your self-willed starvation ' misery serves no-one and pride does not fill the belly)¦ I can see the point being made, but perhaps it could have been done so a little more show-y than tell-y (like the rest of the poem)? Overall, though, it is most desirous!

No, hang on, not :-p… You really do have one almighty chip on your shoulder, don’t you, Saggy? The truth of the matter is, I’m nobody’s monkey, but yes, I do respect and admire Archergirl, and I thought I’d have a look at one of her poems, thus getting back to what ABCtales is supposed to be about… writing! If you have something to say about the poem – e.g. if you don’t like it for whatever reason – then feel free to go ahead and say it, but why don’t you take your pointless personal insults elsewhere? Now that I’ve got that off my chest… anyone got anything to say about “Chocolat”? ~PEPS~ “There is no spoon.”

Yes yes yes - it worked for me. Very sensual, perhaps this is why the ending feels a little 'obvious' or too direct... it breaks the spell a litte. But I think it works fine and it isn't too out of place. I like archergirls work (I hope that isn't me headbutting ass!) skinsen

"Yes, yes, yes"...? You sound like that Herbal Extracts shampoo advert, Skin! ;-) Thanks for helping to bring the tone back to the literary, Skin/Yan. Call me strange, but I think in "Discuss Writing From ABCtales," we should stick to discussing writing from ABCtales.
