We've discussed misheard lyrics, brilliant lyrics, etc. What about re-written lyrics?
Remember The Wurzels? Sooner not? Responsible for such re-written masterpieces as "I am the Cider Drinker" (Una Paloma Blanca) and "Combine Harvester" (Brand New Key). Any other suggestions for rewrites, by The Wurzels or anyone else?
Personally, I've always thought the songs of The Smiths lend themselves well to Wurzeling:
This Farming Man
"¦I would go out tonight, but I haven't got a smock to wear¦
Some Cows Are Bigger Than Others
"¦some cows udders are bigger than other cows udders¦
Hand In Clover
"¦a calf comes out of her behind¦
Reel Around The Cowshed
That Yolk Isn't Runny Anymore
Farm-hand in a Coma
Sheila Take A Cow
The Head-Maister Ritual
Muck-spreaders Of The World Unite
Back to the Hen House
(apologies to Moz)
