omg!!

I've just been served with a CAFCASS report which recommends that I (that is me) be full-time carer for my daughter.

I'm absolutely over the moon. :~)

For those of you who don't know, my wife cheated on me at xmas, left the family home with our girl, and left me devastated.

Cafcass (independent court advisory service) has come through. Thank you CAFCASS.

I'm due in court on 10th May for directions.

I'm ecstatic, but I'm also very upset. When I was given the news I cried my heart out. It wasn't the 'victory' I envisaged. Although I've been given the greatest gift of my life today, I've also denied another that gift; my soon to be ex-wife, whom I loved with all my heart.

Ah Yan, sometimes victory ain't all it's cracked up to be. Your victory, in the long run, will be that you'll hopefully be able to provide a more stable environment for your daughter to grow up in, and she, in her turn, will grow up knowing that you did this for her. That counts for *a lot*. You can love someone until the end of the world; you can't, however, fix them. You know that. You'll be alright.

my dads ex,left him 7years ago,taking my two half brothers with her.she had been having an affair.and my dad hasnt seen them since.he was in and out of court for ages,did demos,went on hunger strike..but the court would only give him supervised visits-and his kids started seeing him negatively.i'm very glad for you,seeing my dad go through what he did was horrid.it made me so immensely angry at the world.. seeing my father.cry at the loss of his children,is heartbreaking.they are both only in their teens and he may never see them again.
