A difficult end
Almost every time I finish reading a novel I am disappointed. Writers who are so able to create convincing characters and stories often seem to fall a the last hurdle - either wrapping things up too cleanly in a few slick final words, or by continuing way past what should have been the last page. It leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Perhaps it might be better not to read the final chapter? Perhaps the writer shouldn't write it?
I know what you mean caldwell, too often you read a great story only to be let down by what can only be described as an absolute shite ending!!! Feeling you could have done a better job yourself!
"Perhaps the reader should write it?"
It's clear the writer doesn't read it!
