Poems for children

I read 'Jake' For one thing, I found it too long. I am sure you could make your point in a shorter version, even better. It is obviously containing a message, but maybe you need to dress the message up more, it is rather stark. I think people shy away from straight messages.Maybe that's why people don't comment. A much more delicate approach may reward you. I wish you luck. You obviously care. Salo

Thanks for the comments. My problem is that I like to write children's stories in verse so I'm not sure if they are classed as poems or stories. If they are classed as poems then I think they are long, but as a story they are an okay length for junior school age children, I think. I'm not sure what to do about it and would appreciate any more comments.
