creative writing Teacher needed

I really need help with writing. Although I wrote 2 stories i still need help. Mr.Tony Cook should put tips for us beginner writers. I am 12 years old. I am know at my class for writing and many of my friends know about my abctales account and i think they will be here. so please i need help. i am hoping to get a cherry picked.

Hi writer 98 Great to hear you love writing, I too started when I was about 10 years old.You seem to be doing all the right things, but as Dom said, being Cherry picked is not the be all and end all of everything. Also make sure you read lots and lots and lots, it gives you an idea of different writing styles. When I write short stories I mostly write about the things I know, and yes writing, like drawing, is a matter of practice and then some more!. Another fun thing to do is to think up all kinds of different characters, these you can draw from real lfe. If you see someone who looks intersting, write down what they look like, what they wear, what kind of life you imagine that person to have, do they have a pet, what kind of job do you think they might have etc. If you write about say a footballer, do the reasearch and see what it entails to be a footballer, find out how the rules of the game work, so when you write about the footballer you have a lot of information which you can use in your story. Don't be afraid that your writing isn't up to scratch, if you have it in you the writing will get better with time. Lots of luck! Geertje
I disagree, for a new writer being Cherried 'is' everything. If you've never had one it's that something elusive to aim for and strive for. And yes, it's one Ed's opinion, but if they like it, others probably do to. Keep writing, keep posting and keep aiming for that cherry, and good luck in getting it. But equally valuable is the feedback you will receive, some of it might not be glowing praise of your 'work of art' but try not to be despondent if you get a negative or even partly negative comment. Positive crit, is fantastic, it feeds the ego and encourages further progress, but the negative crit is what helps you to improve. Good luck, I'll certainly look out for you. And happy cherry picking.

hi Sunday :) I just wanted to say that I feel your advice to writer98 is spot on, and mainly the part where you say you should write for yourself and others second!!!! I would also like to add writer98, that you could listen to your friends&family conversations and write them down until you build them up in to stories.... example 1, karl and jason had a fight at school today about this really sick girl everyone likes, but i know she wont ever look at me. 2, Morning darling can you take jason to the doctors i need to take cahrlie to the dentist. Alot of conversations seem borying but when they are all put down and rearranged its amazing what you may get :)Your obviously a smart young person and I am no teacher lol I hope this helps. good luck but once again I agree all what Sunday said :)))) keep writing :)
