A thank you

I would just like to thank all the people who read, commented and helped me with my poem 'Going for Gold'

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post this thank you but I put up a thank you in the comments box of the updated version and it's only today that I realised it really should be here as this was where I posted my plea for help. I have also been away this weekend at a music festival where a niece and nephew were performing. My husband and I are a couple of pensioner groupies. Peeing down, field a sea of mud and there we were boogieing away. Great! Come away with trench foot though.

Thank you all once again

Moya

That sound like a weekend to me Moya. Get some talc' on those tootsies.

Hello Scratch, Yep it certainly was and yes, thank you muchly, I will. Moya

Pensioner groupies, Moya... join the club. Me and the missus love music and live gigs, we go to loads, so I reckon the four of us are in pretty good company. I don't know what the finished form of 'Going for Gold' is like, whether you tinkered with it or not, but the version I read would have done for me, and some... I don't know exactly when your big day is, but our very best wishes to you two for the Gold. Trev and Deb

TVR

Hello Trev, Yes, we had a great weekend. My niece is a very talented musician as she plays piano, keyboard, violin, and saxophone as well as singing. My nephew is lead vocalist in another band and he came up from Essex to sing with my niece's two bands. I did tinker with 'Going for Gold' as with the updated version I went with some small suggestions that made a big difference to how it read, I think. The big day is on Saturday and we are having a forties party so don't be alarmed if you hear a siren just make for the shelter. Thank you to you and Deb for your good wishes. MOya

Hello Julie, Yes they don't make 'em like us oldies anymore. We love to boogie, jitterbug, boogie on a Saturday night! Well, I will this Saturday night for sure. My beloved will take a good strong dose of his puffer and I will take extra tablets and with an ambulance standing by we should, to paraphrase Barry Manilow, 'Make it Through the Night' If not, then we will at least go out with a bang! Joking about the Ambulance! Thank you for your good wishes, Moya

Sounds like you had a great time! Richard LP
Richard L. Provencher
Hello Richard, Yes, we certainly did. But come Saturday they will all be coming up again for our 'Big One!' Can't wait. Got so many people staying I will be tripping over bodies left, right and up the middle! Best wishes to you Richard and to Esther. Moya

You are going to have a lovely anniversary by the sound of it! And it looks like we are a whole bunch of pensioner groupies, we often do gigs - my sons band as well as 60s bands - lets hear it for the Merseybeats - and the outdoor ones are great, theres nothing like a boogie barefoot in the grass glass of wine in hand! Long live rock n roll! And long live love - 50 years is a wonderful achievement. Linda

Linda

Hello Linda, Yes I think we will have a lovely Anniversary. I can't wait to see some of my friends and family that I haven't seen for a while because they don't live close by. I will probably not be able to do much reading or posting until after Saturday but if I can manage to post something I will but please be patient if I don't manage to read anything till after party. Thank you for your good wishes too, Linda. Moya
