Ted Talks

http://www.ted.com/

I'm sure a lot of people here will know about Ted (not the recent Mark Wahlberg movie), but for those who don't, it might be the second best website in the world ;)

I've just discovered it myself, and have recently been falling asleep while listening to the most interesting people in the world talk about the most interesting things in the world.

Edinburgh World Writers Conference, may be of interest. Live now: http://www.edinburghworldwritersconference.org/should-literature-be-poli...

Can't look my sounds gone on my lappy.

Thanks Steve..
Do you have headphones Sooz? I should be working lenchenelf, but I can't click away from your link! Oh well, it's Friday afternoon.
Phew, thought you meant Ted the unfunny turd currently doing the rounds in cinemas. Yeah i think it's awesome stuff, they even used it to promote Prometheus with a scripted 3 minute short by Guy Pearce as Weyland. Good times.

Hi SteveD, looking forward to some of the subsequent discussions, missed half of today's, had to whizz off. Hi Sooz, hopefully they will be archived for on-line access like the TED talks, which are always worth a good rootle through as Steve notes :-0)

Watched 'Strange answers to the psychopathy test' - fascinating stuff.
My favourite is 'Reggie Watts disorients you in the most entertaining way', at least I think that's what it's called. Very interesting one on a naval admiral's views on world security. Also a teacher 'growing green' in New York. Just so much variety - I love that the only running theme is human progression, so you can dive into any number of different topics.
