This is a challenging read but if you feel that you can manage it in spite of the health warning at the start I would encourage you all to give it a go. It's brilliant writing.

I think it's an excellent piece - however disturbing it may be. I also find it very interesting, as John Shade points out, that it is a 13 year old boy having sex that is causing the controversy rather than the treatment of the women in the piece. The whole thing is allegorical and morally questioning - but it does leave you disturbed and unsettled. Well worth a read if you can stomach it.
