Story, Poem and Inspiration Point of the Week

It’s been a wonderful week for poetry and prose with writers using innovative techniques and genres. Story of the week goes to love-writing for powerful experimental short fiction. Staccato sentences, visual disturbances on the page and a tragic central story successfully conveys a man’s mental health. love-writing takes risks with her work and this one’s definitely worth it:

It’s a two poem tie for Poem of the Week. Two pieces, totally different in form and content but both have made a lasting impression. Firstly, congratulations go to Silver Spun Sand for her artistic study of porcelain and skin, a beautifully crafted poem shot through with love:

And congratulations to london_calling for his splendid poem that draws on the darkness of Dr Faustus; a man in decline taunted by his own mind and the spiteful voice of the devil:

It’s the school holidays and summer’s knocking, so our Inspiration Point is ‘camping.’ Don’t forget to take a tin opener.
