Football season again, although I'm not too sure that all of our eloquent footie fans will be able to understand Mr Goss's big words!

Yeah, cos all us footie fans never went to school (well, I never). I just look at the numbers and try to work out who won. I think we scored 41 last night.
ok, ok..I missed a word out should be LESS eloquent fans, god forbid I should suggest that our football fans are stupid or illiterate.... After all they chant literary classics each match. 'who's the wanker who's the wanker who's the wanker in the goal'
oops sorry Tyler, hope you shut your eyes in time.
'who's the wanker in the goal'? When did you last see a match, 1956?
No - last night. He was there - in goal. Bring on Chris Kirkland. We always do really badly at this time of year - that's what worries me about the September games - but hopefully the Welsh will also be suffering from our seemingly traditional slow start to the season.
well they looked a bit tighter at the back last night than we did, although we looked about as tight at the back as Elton John. Bloody James! I'm not one to just blame the keeper but it was his fault and that's that. (the first goal) I DId agree with the bringing on of Owen at halft ime and it was as Sven said after the match, nobody knows how much time he'll get on a pitch between now and the NI game so he needs as much play time as poss, Defoe will be in better shape since he'll get a few games at Spurs before we play Wales.
It's a shame that everyone picks on James, the quality of the defence is what needs looked at. It doesn't matter if you are Ivan Pellizoli or Lev Yashin, with crap defenders in front you will let more goals in. The tabloids had a go too at "Bomb Scare" Douglas for last night's friendly fiasco with Austria. The fact of the matter was that he has always been a shite keeper, and Scotland's defence leaked less than a John Wayne shoulder-wound before Elvis went off. Kahn! St. Johnstone chant, vs. Tax Dodgers 1997: In yer Monaco slums In yer Monaco slums Your butler looks in the larder for something to eat He finds caviar and he thinks it's a treat In yer Monaco slums richardx

Football season here in the states too. I have to make a correction: Us football fans are not stupid or illiterate, camus.

Tyler King

Not fan yourself then Tyler?
now then tyler, do you mean 'football' or ' American Football'?
Well, football fans may or may not be eloquent, but apparently we are stupid, according to this http://football.guardian.co.uk/comment/story/0,9753,1551650,00.html
Football fans range from the brightest souls to the most flea-bitten in our generation. This fellow in the grauniad is only perpetuating its "you must feel stupid because you aren't interested in sudoku" heritage. Ticket prices are outrageous, true, and I don't go to games that I have to pay for. However, you'll notice how the days of the two grand season ticket are slowly eradicating football thugs, who now only turn up for cheaper international games. The problem is, is that they are now down your local. You know the type: bald white men sagging out of their white FCUK T shirts. Introduce legislation!

rswatt: Are you okay? You've stopped taking your medication haven't you? Who's the wanker in the goal? I thought it was David James. Absolutely brilliant at instinctive saves, but if he has to think about it you can see the brainbox thinking, okay what do I do now? Oh shit, pick it out of the back of the net.

no, I'm still taking my medication. The England defenders were totally tonk at closing down, hence shipping so many goals. It's not rocket surgery.

Tyler, the game in question was football (soccer) and the team was England, therefore I was discussing England fans not American ones. As for anything else I simply cannot believe I started a thread on bloody football! *slits throat*
