Well done Enzo. Had I not looked it up I wouldn't have had a clue. It's a translation of the lyrics of Nessun Dorma by Andrea Bocelli. RIP LP

Perhaps what you meant was, it's an English translation of the original Italian lyrics. Mind you, I like Bocelli, but he'll never sing it the way Luciano did. I saw Pavarotti in concert in Central Park back in '93. He was brilliant then; brilliant always.

The translation is by Andrea Bocelli, AG. The rest I don't understand. Sounds like you are saying Bocelli is an opera (para 2) and then an opera singer (para 3). Never heard of either of them I'm afraid.

Being that we're being pedantic, Broosh... There are lots of translations of Nessun Dorma; Bocelli may have done one, but it's one of thousands. It's not like Italian is a dead language. "Never heard of either of them I'm afraid." You're joking, yes? The rest just comes down to my poor typing. Bocelli isn't an opera, just an operatic tenor with crossover appeal. Lovely, honey-smooth voice.

For the record, AG, I wasn't joking. I only mentioned the translator's name because I felt it was wrong to reproduce her work (I assume it is a she) and not credit her. Translations do differ. It seems there's a lot of potential for misunderstanding in these here threads.

Funnily, he's almost as famous for being blind as he is for singing beautifully, although IMO it's a bit silly to assume that because someone is blind, it's therefore miraculous that they can sing. You can watch a clip of him singing at Pavarotti's funeral on the Beeb.
