Fancy doing a free university course?

Maybe at the University of California or Massachusetts Institute of Technology or Yale or Carnegie Mellon or how about Notre Dame?

So what's stopping you?

The website below publishes a list of free courses available over the internet from the above places of learning, plus a few others.

According to the site some of the offerings are a bit lightweight but others are surprisingly comprehensive, providing course materials, including lectures, tests, notes and readings. All for free.

You won't get a degree or access to lecturers, and you may have to buy some textbooks, but otherwise it sounds like possibly a good deal.

I've listened to many of the free Berkeley (California) lectures and they are fantastic. They're all available for download from iTunes, too. That's where I get them from, anyway. Hubert Dreyfus' lectures on Existentialist Literature and Film are a real treat.
