HELP! Can you source this quote?!

Hi everyone.

I wish to use this Anais Nin quote in my book-

'Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.'

Does anyone know which of her books/journals I might find it in?

Would be very grateful for any help in finding the source!

Jen

Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death. Anais Nin, "Winter of Artifice" US (French-born) author & diarist (1903 - 1977) Google is your friend :-) http://www.ukauthors.com http://www.ukapress.com
Thank you so much andrea! You are a google genius! And a very lovely and helpful person to boot! J x

Has anyone read Ken Wilbur's "A Brief History of Everything"? He talks about the different states we experience during life, but says we don't pass through them - we integrate and enfold them into each new state we evolve into. It's good stuff, though you really need to be slightly drunk to appreciate it :) Bill
I've never read AnaIs two dots, Henry put me off...when did they find time to write, anyway? :-)
