Amazing observations.

Today I went to see my grandmother. As we stood in her kitchen making a cup of tea she pointed to the bungalow opposite hers. She said,

'Do you see Edith's* window?'

'Yes.'

'Do you see the net curtain that cuts the window in two?'

'Yes.'

'Do you see the little head of that plant about an inch and a half just above the edge of the net curtain?'

'Yes.'

''It's grown a whole inch since yesterday. A whole inch!'

(* in order to protect the innocent, not her real name.)

that'll be me in the not to distance future - your observation might make a good short story too. Juliet

Nosy Neighbour phenomenem (sp?) is not (contrary to popular belief) restricted to women. this man I know well who will remain anonymous also, used to know EVERYTHING about the neighbours, and used to expect me to have the same level of interest... 'You know the women who lives next door, not the Turkish woman or the one with the kids, the other one?' 'No.' 'You know, the black woman, her sister comes round every Wednesday.' 'Does she?' ' In the blue BMW... well last week she was...' and so on.

And another inch today, no doubt. That plant is definitely up to something. Visit my blog: http://whatisthisstrangeplace.blogspot.com/
I fully understand why you have had to protect 'Edith's' identity. Everyone would want her to pop round for tea and a bun and to work her magic on their Cannabis Sativa plants. Perhaps that is what she's up to with hydroponics.
