There's been a lot of trips down memory lane on here recently, and this piece took me by the hand and led me to a place and time which I never knew before but now feels so familiar. An effortless read, a well-crafted snapshot of another time and place, with wonderful well-observed details like the gym shoes and the two Normans.
It flagged a bit for me in the store scene- I felt overwhelmed by too much detailed description - but that's just my opinion and overall I thought this was a great piece of writing.
