World Book Day

Feels suitably chastised and has just entered.
Also looking through their website, I was reminded that I need recommending a good read!
I remember some months ago Tony, on the forums you recommended an author to me and I can't for the life of me remember who it was. You said I would enjoy him (that's all I can recall - it was a he!) and recommended a particular title as the best of his works to begin with. I went to the book shop and they didn't have this particular book - I read the jackets of his others and was keen but decided to leave it until I found the one you'd suggested.
And now it's completely gone from my addled mind!
Any recollections?

Was it Tom Robbins? Jitterbug Perfume is my favourite of his - but Fierce Creatures Home From Hot Climates is also a good 'un. They all are.
