My stories

bird song

I tilt, I soar On wings aflame with reds and golds, And brown my beak, I call, I sing aloud; The sky is mine. I drift, I gaze O’er fields and hills and farms Soft roll beneath.

Orchid

You bought the orchid for me in the spring. Fresh and perfect new, she bloomed to our first bloom of love.

PMT

Yes, I know I found you funny yesterday, It’s just not that funny anymore. Yes, I know I’m being touchy and ‘a bitch’, But you need to let it slide, ok?

The Ship

Lamps and lanterns beam with fragile grace that seems amiss. Pegged tight to warping boards they bounce with chains that clank and clamour on dark beams. Dark and dingy basement-like inside,

brown.

You are in the dark waters of the sullen, resting lake. You are there on the edges of the cracked oak skin. You creep along the edges of my window in the rain, And kiss the soft metal with rust.
