Stand By Me

Note: There are 2 songs titled Stand By Me that I know of. One, the more famous, was recorded by Ben King and John Lennon. The other, seemingly a spiritual or traditional song, was recorded by Elvis Presley on his album "How Great Thou Art." The latter is one of my favorite gospel songs. I listen to it often. I also like King and Lennon's Stand By Me, of course. Here I write 2 additional verses for those who are interested. Elvis sings only 2 on his album. I understand those 2 were written by Charles Tindley. Hope you like them.

Remembering Doug

Who was Doug Barfield? Well, he was my nephew, my older brother's second child. My brother's namesake and my father's namesake. Doug was born in 1970 and died in 1977. Now, embarrassed, I think, Were his eyes green(like most of our family's eyes)or blue?
