the sky just the way

I like it

illuminated as a

street corner

in a little village

down the hill

a light for wayward

drifters needing

direction to

                                                                 the nearest shelter

for homeless

persons such as I.

Very interesting Richard! And how you count yourself as a "homeless" person. Such as our world is just a tent before the mansions and great heavens.

But where does "Bathe" com in?

Hi Tom. Working on our church team efforts with the Homeless is a challenge. This is a culture of desperation. I have never been homeless - PTL. My poems try to reflect the difficulties encountered when a person arrives from anywhere without clothing, money, family, friends, contacts, equipment etc.and has to enter a town/city to seek sustanence. In my mini-poem I use light as a welcoming sign & the post as a symbol  for available help down the road. -Richard LP
