The pensioner's plea.

from the ABC set Geoff's poems

I can’t pay my gas bill
Though the gov’ment’s very kind
It’s given me lots of money
To warm up my behind

But that’s not the whole answer
There’s my bits that outward stick
A little bit more money
Would prob’ly do the trick

There’s no feeling in my fingers
Nor any in my toes
They’re all getting bluer
If I fall down off they goes

There’s also lots of other bits
Of which I cannot tell
I would like the extra money
To keep them warm as well.

So please give me more money
Then I can buy a lot more gas
And burn it in my boiler
Until it comes to pass

That summer comes then I’ll get warm
And we all can cure our ills
And put cash into our savings
To help with next years bills.

What are the bits that `outward stick'?? Or perhaps I shouldn't ask...

I like your comments too Scratch.
The sticky out bits are described as all getting blue seashore. Are there any others in your amazing imagination?

Hello Geoffrey,

An impassioned plea if ever I read one! I hope Cameron coughs...

Can't have your extremities going blue!

Very humorous and much enjoyed.
