I am a label

It hangs around my neck

I put it there

you see it

you ignore it

it is there

I want you to see it

please see my label

before you see me

it is part of my identity

if you ignore it you are ignoring a part of me

a part of me i want to announce

i need this label

as it helps me feel secure

i can bask in it's shadow

it will ward away evil spirits

and make me feel special

i know some people look at this label negatively

well that is society's fault

I need this right now

but one day i will lift it off

the label that you ignored

will still be in your mind

but new people do not see the label

they see me

i like new people

becuase they have no memory of that label

and I am just like them

maybe they had labels too but they took them off
