It gets dark every night

In the sun and the bustle
We forget it gets dark each night
Our lights help give light
But flicked off darkness pervades

In the laughter and colours of day
Who could ever think
That the sun will set
And that even coldness may set in

Yes we have heaters
Log fires
A glowing television set
A twinkling iPhone

But where is the heat
That warmed my heart
I can tell you it is gone
Almost unexpectedly I find it gone
