Minor Annoyance

from the ABC set Poems and the Like

Don't nudge me
While I'm eating my
Bowl of Malties,
Or breathe in my ear
In a pretence of
Affection
While I file down the
Rough Skin
Around my thumbnails.
Sometimes I just want
To be left alone
To do my thing,
Without your
Slobbery tongue on my face,
Or your wet, snotty nose
Making damp patches on my clothes.
Sorry...
Did you think I was
Talking about you?
I meant the dog.
