One man
born without arms
held the brush
between his teeth
and painted
beautifully
Another man
partially-sighted
from birth
painted from his
mind's eye
beautifully
One lady
semi-paralysed
due to a stroke
painted
left-handed
beautifully
and I
the teacher
often felt
I could not paint
at all.

This is really moving and you've painted the scene in words very beautifully.

No comment of mine could do those of whom you speak more justice, Coral, than the narrator herself, of this beautiful poem.

A wonderful poem telling of those who are less
fortunate than us and yet wonderfully talanted.
Jenny.

Thank you Jenny - yes I have met some very inspirational people through my past work who indirectly helped me later on in life.

once again it's the sparing use of words that makes this poem so good

Hello seashore!
Lovely and thought provoking.
It's a shame you can't display your paintings here as well.
I'm sure a Cherry would appear.

really like this seashore - agree with Insert, sparing in this case is more than good. :-)

That's nice of you ScoZen - you might be disappointed in my paintings though!
Thank you for liking this, Fatboy, and letting me know you felt `spare' worked here. It means a lot.
Thanks so much for cherries, Eds.

Well done! The whole work structured around one word
most impressive and totally beyond my capabilities.
seashore | February 25, 2011 - 11:21
That's probably the nicest compliment you've ever given me for one of my pieces Geoff - also the most insightful. Thank you, I really appreciate it.
