Where are the ripples that wrinkled the lake
or the wind that used to make the trees shake?
Where is the little boy that I once was?
Where does innocence go when it is lost?
Is there a heaven for forgotten things
or caterpillars in their silk coffins?
Does yesterday die or live in today?
Does death bring us home when it takes us away?

Thank you, Julie, Camilla, fatboy, Tina, Jenny and Celticman. I had been meditating upon the nature of death and the old idea that "death is just change" and I felt I could express the idea in poetry. Thank you for the Cherry too, it is much appreciated.
