Who Should Be Boss?

Radio posted this question on another forum ( http://www.abctales.com/forum/2005/08/17/whos_the_boss )
and I thought it was important enough to post here.
If you could choose a country to be 'boss' of the world, in place of America, who would it be?
Hard question that certainly makes you think... better the devil that you know?

I'd choose: USA-if they made Lou Reed president UK-if we made Joe Pasquale prime minister (and Gillian Talyforth Queen) or maybe Estonia, they seem nice
Narnia.
and.....ewww Gillian Taylforth really!
Yeah, she'd be great, scrapping in the grounds of Windsor castle, blowjobs in the royal carriage, Christopher Biggins as royal equerry, what more could you want?

Let's make Geordies the next Master Race, they have such a friendly accent. Can't get the fuckers off channel 4.

Much as I like Holland, most European countries have had a go at ruling the world, or at least huge sections of it, and didn't do any better job than the yanks. How about Singapore? They took a ravaged dump and made it the envy of Asia. And all without the aid of democracy ...
On Bush: My mother knew his mother and Barbara is real b*tch. They're not even real Texans...they come from somewhere in Maine. Nothing against Maine but apparently it's too late to mark the whole package "RETURN TO SENDER." My vote: Colin Ferrell. What a cutie and he seemed to do a nice job in that movie.
Rhode Island...oh you said country. Well we could make RI its own country me the queen and when other countries would ask me something or try to question my authority I'd just hold up one hand and smile softy and say STFU!
John Irving the novelist said that he'd have Dubya's old man back 'in a heartbeat.'

With another reminder of Global Warming and resultant climate change on the news again tonight - I have to say that it's time we had a new boss who would force more serious efforts to save the planet. I quite like Neil's comment - but I have to say I don't know enough to make a real recommendation: I like some of the things that New Zealand have done but it may well be that I've only heard the good things.
Well, seriously, folks: No one should have that kind of control. It's like me walking up to a Muslim and saying, "See you on Sunday! And don't forget it's your turn to make the cookies for the bake sale!" I'm not trying to be provential but, really, what on earth are we doing over there?
