An Announcement
Dear ABCtales members,
as of Tuesday morning, I will be stepping down as editor of ABCtales leaving Tony to carry the torch.
This hasn't been a sudden decision, but I feel it's time for me to move onto other projects working with Social Spider, a not for profit design and social action agency (http://www.socialspider.com).
It was ABCtales that gave me the chance to grow as a writer, and through the experience of editing, grow in my understanding of how to nurture and encourage people throughout the process of finding their feet as writers. I hope that ABCtales will be able to continue to do this for a long time to come.
If there's one thing I'd like to leave as a challenge to you all on my departure is the plea to please bite the bullet and give feedback to people. The greatest thing you can do for anyone who is sharing their work with you is, with kindness, compassion and the best intentions, give your honest opinion. Regardless of the stage that you're at with your own writing, your opinions, ideas and suggestions are never wrong or inadequate.
It's up to you all to make ABCtales the kind of community that you want it to be. ABCtales is only as good or rewarding as the people who share their work here and offer their time and consideration in reading and commenting.
I've enjoyed the time I've spent with you all over the last three years, and certainly won't be leaving ABCtales entirely. I might even get a chance to give more feedback now I'm no longer concerned with the day to day running of the site.
As of Tuesday, Tony (tcook@abctales.com) will be your main contact.
Keep writing and reading, look after yourselves and feel to drop me a line if you fancy.
Cheers,
Mark Brown, very nearly ex-editor, www.ABCtales.com
