Well. What did you think?

I thought that it was worth doing.

Great and sensitive script. The performances great.

God. I still despise Anna, and love Egg.

Tops!

Ralph

Is it back? Crap. I hated that.

I enjoyed it, except for the weak ending. Weirdly, ralph, I can't stand Egg, but think Anna is relatively ok... but they are all made up so it doesn't matter (Daniela Nardini is a great actor though). I found Miles' whole situation, and the dissolution of it, totally unconvincing. Also thought the 'reality tv'-postmodern angle was a bit laboured. But still watched it til the end, plus that smug 'documentary' on the making of it afterwards. Hmm, am just a thirtysomething statistic.
It didn't rock my boat - whilst the original series certainly did. As for the characters, I thought Egg was a twit, Warren was too twee for words, Miles was an arrogant bastard but I always liked Millie and Anna - especially Anna. She wears her heart on her sleeve - WYSIWYG style - and I like that in a person.
I was glad they did it. As a stand alone piece, it was pretty mediocre stuff - albeit with occasional moments of dark brilliance (such as the documentary maker watching Warren downing a load of sleeping pills and choosing not to tell anyone). But I though the character development was reasonably convincing - I thought the thing with Miles was ridiculous but also quite convincing because he's a pretty ridiculous character. I also quite liked the way that - although you found out where they'd all got to in a general sense - the unanswered questions from the end of series two mostly remained unanswered. Key problem was taking a drama about 'everyday life' and reconstructed as a set-piece. Worth watching, though, I think.

Tend to agree with Bukharin. Some of it was heavy-handed (Anna's soliloquy on childbirth in particular was so obviously 'written' and hammily directed with the camera cutting to her everytime she said 'tick'...) and the Miles story line was unconvincing. I liked Warren, Egg's and Anna's plot lines. Millie was still rather insipid. No change there. It was entertaining though and worth doing, I think. And, to my surprise, I thought the documentary angle worked well. I like the actress who plays Claire; I've seen her in other stuff and she's good. And the ending was balls. Joe
I enjoyed it first time round, when it was a pretty original production (regards the 'reality' take) but it's just as boring as fuck now! :) There's nothing more mind-teasing than the incomprehensible eagerly avowed - Dennett
