Those Who Enjoy Repression

I really enjoyed this one, too. I haven't been reading brighteyes' work long, so I still haven't worked out what makes the poems so readable and apparently direct but also manages to pack so much in, with a lovely wryness of tone. I'm not a poet so I don't really understand the technicalities of how it works, but it does! M

Me too, I love this whole set so far; very original and underwritten rather than overblown to my eyes, with the occasional lovely line (e.g. "loans blown on fetish bric-a-brac" and "a freckled marvel") and with plenty of quirkiness to keep you interested.

Thanks a lot for the flag-up guys. This one's probably going to end up after NaPoWrimo in the Shame, Shame & a Lousy Nickname set. As for knowing the mechanics, Margharita, that you enjoyed it is definitely a recommendation, even if you feel you don't understand what makes poetry tick quite as intimately as prose, so thanks and glad you dug.
