ok peeps...fortunately for me (maybe not so for others) I have the pleasure of staying with a friend in belsize park next week. Not been to London for yonks!!
So - what you recommend as 'must-do' while I'm there? Any pubs/clubs/other attractions. So far I've dreamy plans to wander up primrose hill, do camden market and visit a few local pubs (washington and adelaide) but that's about it...

any more..... ????

p.s. - I'm so excited, I've got a warm, fuzzy feeling in the tummy.

Glad you're so excited, Yan! ;) Have you made your appointment for afternoon tea with the Windsors? pe ps oid Blogs! "the art of tea" "that's an odd courgette"

It's so long since I did 'nice' things in London. I just go up, work and come home. But the Tate Modern is a must, the Eye is well worth it and try and get cheap tickets to a good show - they sell them off half price on the day in Leicester Square. But one of the nicest things to do is just wander about, get lost and see what you see!
Thanks, Tony. Really looking forward to it now. Leaving tomorrow morning. £61 train return!! jeez!! :) We'll be staying local, though..so I don't think I'll be doing the eye or anything. :#) Gonna be nice just to get away from the old life for a few days. awww, so nice to see y'all are friends now. No need to let the fact that one of you owns a website and one of you attacked it(and were banned for doing so) stand in the way of some jolly old chit chat. 'Thanks, Tony' for being a ridiculously naive muppet...you've got the ABC you deserve hahaha.

there is plenty to do in Camden see http://www.germ2.com/images/entry/shortlist/544_camden.jpg jude "Cacoethes scribendi" http://www.judesworld.net

And so the prodigal son returns - and behaves. Is that a bad thing? Surely it's worse to register in a silly name with a silly email address and try to stir up trouble? ABC is bigger than an individual and it continues to grow very nicely thankyou.

Thankyou. :) Had a fab few days in the company of a truly awesome young woman. :)) Went to Lock tavern on Sunday night and was awestruck to find one of my all time fave bands, Turin Brakes, bashing out numbers in the corner of the pub. Had a bimble up primrose hill, the market...generally taking it easy, copious amounts of booze, laughs and stuff. What more can I say - I'm in love with "The Steeles" pub!! haha. Totally blown away by the splendour and tranquility of belsize park and surrounding environs. Absolute joy!!!! Can't wait to do it all again...if the stunning little minx will permit it! ;-) When the power of love overcomes the love of power, we'll find peace. - Jimi Hendrix

I've had the good luck to live in and around BP as Jude called it. Yes I love The Steeles too, but unfortunately what they sell is now poison to me. The Washington at the end of England's Lane have a comedy night, I've been a few times in the past and it was always an hilarious evening. But if you're in to walking you must visit Kenwood House, which is straight across Hampstead Heath which is glorious in it self. There is also Regents Park with its amazing array of flowers and flower gardens, and Primrose Hill. Oh yes and the outdoor theatre in the inner circle in Regent's Park which is always worth a visit. Aren't we lucky! (And no that wasn't a question that was a statement)

Aye, we got in The Washington a few times as it's more or less 'the local'. The Steeles was normally jam-packed with 'characters' which I loved. :) And the food - love Thai! Although Thai and Jazz don't necessarily mix! :) Had a laze in Regent's Park and spent a short while debating which bench featured in 'Withnail' lol. At some point I'd like to attend 'the folky folk' night at The Adelaide..sounds like fun! :) When the power of love overcomes the love of power, we'll find peace. - Jimi Hendrix
