Where to comment?

Not everyone bothers with the forums; so if it's something definitely for the author, put it in the comments box under the piece, I'd say. Only thing is, if it's an old piece, the author probably won't know. If they have a contact option on their profile you could tell them. If you want to tell the editors or everyone else, I suppose the forum for comments on writing on ABC is the place... Someone responsible will probably give you a better answer if you're patient. Nice of you to care enough to ask.

thanks for asking this, as i have been a bit bamboozled myself. and when you read something you really love, it's great to share that with others. i have always posted replies in the box underneath the poem, cos i want the author to know they have been read and enjoyed.

www.lorrainemace.com I do as well, but wonder if the author ever gets to know when comments have been made. There doesn't seem to be a notification system. I have work on here that has received comments, but only found out almost by accident that someone had taken the trouble to comment.

We only recently turned on the comment boxes under the stories and I was waiting for reaction to them. If people like them then we will continue with them and add an 'alert' system so that people will know when a comment has been made. Personally I prefer the forums for debate but it's entirely up to you - have the smaller, more intimate, conversation with the author at the bottom of the page or place it on here for larger questions.

I thought it was going to work like Booktribes, where all the comments get added automatically to the forum.

i like the comment boxes - but i'd feel bad missing one, just found one on Thief only because i'm pondering an edit (said thanks anipani!) ...look forward to see what will happen re notifications etc - super! xxldx
