The Pie Shop. Chapter Three. Lil's Story.

Just to say a delighted thank you for the Cherries for this piece. I always intended to develop The Pie Shop story I posted a long time ago, it too was Cherried. I am trying to write not just about the place but also a collection of short stories about the people in there. It's all fiction of course but I'm beginning to feel that I really know the place and the people. I'd be interested to hear any comments about the three chapters so far. Thanks again for the Cherries.

It gives a view into the great forgotten decade of British life - the fifties. It was the end of 'decency' and 'doing the right thing' and 'stiff upper lip' - and the beginnings of its demise can be seen in the events - and your writing reflects that. It's the great British art of abstracting the general out of the particular. More please!
Thanks for the kindly comment Tony, Most encouraging. I've been trying to write about this subject for some time but can't always get it right. Still! I've written three chapters and the fourth is nearly finished so now I've started again who knows I may even finish the book.
