Mastermind

To my absolute amazement I've been offered a place as a contestant on the next series of Mastermind. Am cacking meself. My family are pressurising me to go through with it. Is it braver to accept you're a coward and back out or to give in to pressure and go through with it?

Don't ask us - you're the aspiring mastermind :)
I would definitely back out because my general knowledge is less than first rate! I am sure yours is far superior. If you're in with a chance, go for it! jude

I wanted that but someone already had it.

Do it! What do you have to lose? The worst you can do is come 4th, innit? In any case, what a great experience it would be. And if you're unsure, that's even more reason. Comfort zones and all that. What's your subject?
You've gotta give four specialist subjects at the start in case you get to the final. 1. The Clash 2. Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite Rebellion of 1745. 3. Leeds United - The Revie Years 4. The Battle of Trafalgar They are making me do my weakest one first. Did you know that in 1745 the Highlanders used to take their kilts off before charging and just charge in their shirts with everything else loud and proud. No wonder they were scary.

Go in with your kilt off !

I've been revising. Q: What's orange and sounds like a parrot. A: A carrot.

Just booked my flight to Inverness to visit the battlefield at Culloden. The last battle fought on British soil. It only lasted 30 mins and changed the history of the world. Ooooooooh! I'm all a flutter.

You lot are supposed to like words. The Jacobite Order of Battle at Culloden was: (and I'm doing this from memory) Fitzjames Horse (Bodyguard) Lifeguards (Bodyguard) The Atholl Brigade Camerons Stewarts of Appin Lord Lovat's Regiment Lady MacKintoshes Regiment Mixed Clans MacDonalds of Keppoch MacDonalds of Clanranald MacDonalds of Glengarry Maybe it's just me but the sounds of words don't come much better than that.

Now you're just showing off. Being of Jock descent though, I can understand how the ripping off of kilts could make the enemy feel inferior. Remember sexual equality hadn't even been thought of back then, but hey, what we're talking about it wouldn't have mattered!
Congrats to you!! :) ~It's a maze for rats to try, it's a race for rats to die.~

I think that's a great one - go for it. It knocks my little weekly pub quiz into a cocked hat. I just thought I'd let you know that my relatives were in Lord Lovat's regiment at Culloden. All fine members of the Frazer clan - as am I - although I do tend to keep my breeches on in public. Sometimes.
Wow, Tony, that's fantastic, and still remembered after all these years.
