I have something I am desperate to share with fellow ABC Talers 'cos they are the only ones who will really understand. Sometime ago I won a short story competition which was Europe wide as well as North America and the prize was they would print ten copies of my book. Lovely if I had written one but alas, no. However they agreed to print some of my poems and short stories and they said the book could be any length and today I received my ten copies and I am thrilled. The theme had to be something loosely based on Autumn. My book is entitled Winter Comes When Autumn Leaves and the last story in the book is my winning entry.

This comes on top of one of my poems being accepted and published in the Gold Dust Magazine as well as their Anthology and like Alibob I have also had a piece accepted by The Guardian.

I will be brought down on Thursday though as the Parkinson's Players read a play which I co -wrote and last week's rehearsal was dire. But hey ho this has all come together after my confidence was rock bottom and I really thought I would hang up my pen. Sorry this post is me, me, me but I am soooo excited.

Oh Moya, what can I say. I'm really thrilled for you, as you must be. You are very deserving of success and I'm sure many more will follow. Thank you all for being so generous with your praise and I am thrilled but I know there are very many more talented writers than me on this site who don't get the luck I've just had. For me, it couldn't have come at a better time as I was all but done because I thought I was just deluding myself but, for the moment, I'm happy living with delusion. Hello Stephen, I can empathise with just how you're feeling at the moment. You lifted me a while back as I seem to recall. Sometimes though it is just when you think it's all gone pear shaped and nothing seems to go right that is just when something good pops up. I'm gonna make you a number one priority after I get this blessed play thing out of the way. So expect me over to your site to have a good read. Wowzers! is all I can say! I'm speechless and that takes some doing! No, I'm not...who am I kidding? Blighters, what a lovely thing to say. I can't thank you all enough first for your encouragement and second for the very generous response to my bit of good luck and third for all the help I have received from the good and talented people on this site. I'd like to thank my Director without whom...oh no, that's my Oscar acceptance speech! I feel like Gwyneth Paltrow, I believe she shed a tear or two. Luigi, as for the Guardian piece, it hasn't yet been published. It will go in the family section and there are three different strands to this. My strand is Playlist which is a favourite piece of music that acts as a vehicle for memories and experiences about family relationships. Alibob has already been featured and she told me it was months before they used her piece and with her they didn't tell her they were going to use it until the day before it was published. They came back to me straight away and asked for more...What a mistake! But they did say it would be a while. Thank you all once again. Moya
