There was (a while back) a crossover between abctales folk and those who also posted on ukauthors. They had a chat room of sorts there. I guess it's up to the site owners to figure if they need a chat room, although it's possible "if they build it, people will come" but hopefully not Kevin Costner, unless he wants to justify why he considers Waterworld to be a good film.

thanx for replies. I just thought a chat room would be quicker - to get answers that's all, Well - I've a question so what do you do when you send a ms to someone via e-mail and they do not acknowledge because they don't and they do not enter into any kind of correspondence about it? Wait ? OK for how long? Not send it? I sent my story to a magazine and do not know if they received it or were interested or just binned it, shredded it, stamped on it. So how long should I wait until I send it elsewhere? Thanx

Give it a month - and then submit it elsewhere.
A chat room? We have enough trouble on this forum without really winding it up. It's also true that people think a little more before posting on a forum - and so we do tend to get slightly better debate!

One 'zine online I submitted to airly advised that they would get back to me in 3 months, inasmuch as that was what their web site said.
I havent heard anything in the last two weeks though --- for the curious I sent them Obesity -- probably more out of bloody mindedness than anything else.
I am hoping that since they are a US site having my story up on abctales (a UK based site) won't matter.

i think 3 months is too long . Not sure about being published in UK & USA - I think it would matter? But I don't know.
