Discussing the slight controversy of the poem "Faithless"

My recent writing endeavors have caused quite a stir amongst certain members within the Abctales community. Before I begin I would like to extend an apology on the rant I posted due to an offensive comment in response to my work. This comment has one surplus within the fact how human beings are "attached" to religious beleifs and ethics even after a thousand years of advanced technology and studies about the human psyche.
Please be aware that I respect faith in its own form, but detest people that stand on soap boxes and fill people with dismay and fear. This is where I would like to ask you members how my poem is so offensive when I have only written what I have personally experienced and acknowledged over the course of many years studying parapsychology and metaphysics. My poem was only intended to provide a birds eye view on atheism within MY beleifs. Not a slight or slander against your own beleifs.
Straight to the point (and absolutely no preaching or downgrading) what does my poem convey on the subject of faithlessness? Why does it strike the wrong cords?

Husssssshhhhhh .. group hug. C'Mon, now Dx
You're entitled to your beliefs, as is everyone else to the contrary. You can argue for your point all you want, but be aware that it's pointless because you're not going to change anyone's mind, just as you would never allow your own to be changed. I don't see why you felt the need to post this and start picking at scabs again. I enjoyed your poem, and I don't agree with it. I don't see the need to push it any further.

People are really passionate about their religion and about Hell. In church, we're told to at least try convincing nonbeliever out there so we may help save their soul. Your poem, honestly, shouldn't have received that kind of response. Unfortunately, it did.

I thought that was an intelligent and well argued debate on both sides. I'm of the atheist persuasion but I would never deny the right of a believer - so long as he/she doesn't try to impose those beliefs on me. I won't impose mine on them.
I agree, each to their own. I'm a non believer but have been seeing a very religious man.. we agreed to disagree and it worked fine. There's room in the world for everybody's beliefs and ideas.

Its all just a matter of experience and contrast. Each one to their own nails it right on the head writing friends. Religion intrigues me on how people believe one thing versus the social norms that enforce his or her spiritual practice; much like an oil painting by two renknown artist vying for the same vision. There is always an opposite on the other side of perception. Always look outside the boxes mes braves. - Chinobus -
