Ready for Rudy?

I have about 6 more things to get - plus the fresh shopping ...

it's just a week away and i have got to that point where i think it will all be over too soon ...

how are you getting on with it all?

and what do you hope santa is going to thrust in your stocking?

xxx

I've done all the pressie shopping, just a couple of cards left to send. I hope Santa won't be thrusting anything into any of my undergarments.
what if he slings something in your slipper?
I am hoping for some big boot style slippers. Preferably ones that smell of something three month old giant puppies dont like to eat (which is not much)
I am spending Christmas day I am in on my own with TV. I can't have a christmas dinner cos I don't have a fridge or an oven yet! am hoping that Mr Cod or Walworth Kebab does not observe the festival. Going to the parents for about 3 hours on boxing day and will have all the presents and turkey etc then. I haven't even started my shopping yet and am tempted to get everyone in my family goats for the third world. Bah...humbug... jude "Cacoethes scribendi" http://www.judesworld.net

have you seen the alpaca ad? loads of llamas gurning to the tune 'you're gorgeous' ... best ad i have seen all year ... might get my bro one ...
What I really really want is a big red india rubber ball

All set and ready to go he says smugly, all pressies bought all food catered for, bar the drink. Mind you haven't got a clue what I've bought anyone as my wife takes care of it all. If it was up to me no-one would get anything and I'd eat steak and chips. nobody
haven't done much, bought some booze as presents (it's just easier) bought some pressies for 2 nephews and one niece, just me and mrs_t on xmas day so no hassle, will drive down to bath later in the week, to drop off and pick up pressies
Aaagghhh... got the cards done (at last), had youngest's 21st birthday party last Saturday for 65 family and friends. Ended up in normal heap. Had wife's birthday yesterday. Present (new sheets and duvet cover and pillow cases!) was a big success (I wasn't told what to get). Now half way through buying Christmas presents. Still trying to get http://www.booktribes.com going - if you haven't been over there yet then PLEASE do so! Got to keep ABC going over Christmas. Trying to get a newsletter out to you all. Trying to find stuff for the ABCtales Foundation accounts. Got so much on my list it is going to kill me. It happens every year - and then I spend hours cooking on Christmas Day and then collapse with a large bottle of something (saved a bottle of Mirto from Sardinia this year) - then off to wife's family on Boxing Day, then down to my Mum's for the next day for my family party. Then multiple collapso for a couple of days and then.... do the things I don't get done now. (and that's the half of it) And what do I want? I haven't a clue. Multiple aaarrgghh.
Buying bed linen for your wife's birthday present is hardly gonna win you Brownie points with most women, Tony. I've always thought that birthday gifts should be for the person rather than the home, she must be very understanding to wear that one.

Maybe it is for her to wear... {{{_"P"_}}} ... What is "The Art of Tea"? ... (www.pepsoid.wordpress.com - latest... Can We Ever Really Know the Truth About Anything?)

Not at all, BBF, she just might like to wear bedding. {{{_"P"_}}} ... What is "The Art of Tea"? ... (www.pepsoid.wordpress.com - latest... Can We Ever Really Know the Truth About Anything?)

The All New Pepsoid the Second!

I once sewed a fabulous Marilyn Monroe-style dress out of a damask tablecloth. My gran raised her hands in horror at the idea, and then helped me hem it.
Et voila! One shouldn't make presumptions regarding the fashion inclinations of spouses... :-) {{{_"P"_}}} ... What is "The Art of Tea"? ... (www.pepsoid.wordpress.com - latest... Can We Ever Really Know the Truth About Anything?)

She is a very practical woman who does not really approve of all the frippery and waste we see around us. She was and is delighted with the bed sheets - that are far more expensive etc. than we would normally go for. Sometimes it's the oddest things that win you major Brownie points.
You're a very lucky man, Tony. If I had wife like that I'd buy her whatever new toy I felt I couldn't live without.

I am indeed a lucky man, Missi, but boy-toys are not my thing - unless it's a new golf club.
"If I had wife like that I'd buy her whatever new toy I felt I couldn't live without.' Which probably explains why you don't have one.
Tony, golf clubs ARE boys toys, as are all items not necessary for life support. Arsey, like myself with regard to your spouse, you misread what my wife is like completely.

The only place we shop for toys these days is Ann Summers
Neil, lucky you. Anyway, thought I was ready for Xmas, then just remembered something. My wife takes care of present buying, but she'll also want something. Any suggestions as to where I can purchase something now? Where did you get that bed linen Tony? Only kidding, the only thing I forgot till now was to wish you all a Happy Christmas. Got back in the early hours after a six and a half hour delay at Saltzberg airport (not fog, a door was knocked off the plane apparently). Anyhow, knackered, full of the cold, another year older (birthday yesterday) and staring at a large pile of unwritten christmas cards. Still - the turkey's defrosting and at least we got here. I had my flight to America canceled due to knock on effects from the fog thing. I got here the following day thanks to efforts this end, BA that end were about as close to useless as they could be.

*Raises glass of his own back to Lou* Dan, where are you? If anywhere close to Philly, hope you let me know.
I'm in New Jersey Foster, which I believe can sometimes be considered close to Philly by American standards, but is bloody miles away by my standards.

Yes, it's only across the river, but can still be as many as three hours away... Please, join Lou and I in a virtual toast - Merry Christmas!
New Jersey? If you are near the Pine Barrens you could go visit the Jersey Devil! Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night! There is more of beauty in a moment's silence than in all the works of tongue or pen...
