Okay, it's not writing, but I've just seen the film V for Vendetta, which, in my opinion, is greatly underrated. It's emotive, deep, cinematic and has a powerful message to boot. Natalie Portman's English accent is, admittedly, a little dodgy, but the performance of the incomparable Hugo Weaving... even behind that mask, his voice conveys such feeling! And John Hurt is perfect as an angry, ruthless dictator (quite a contrast to his role in 1984).

(The are also great fight scenes, by the way, but despite being by the makers of the Matrix trilogy, the "action" is really only a relatively small part of the experience...)

Anyone else seen it and feel chagrined at its lack of public acclaim? Or feel like telling me how awful it was?
