Unbound me and Lily Poole

I expect to crash and burn, but I don't think I'm the only one. But here you go..http://unbound.co.uk/books/lily-poole

p.s. If you watch the video I'm much handsomer in real life. I can translate into the colonialist Recieved Pronunciation on request.

cheers Jack laugh

great pitch and looks like a nice cemetery, always been a fan of the ghost story and what it has to say about the mental state of repressed bachelors and their inability to connect with the world. This failure leaves them open to all sorts of psychic nuisance

i bet stephen fry has a ghost up his chimney

well done!

If you see an early pledge for £10 and do not know the name it could be mine as I use a writing name on abc. Good luck             Elsie

You know I wish you the very best if luck celt but that's not going to stop me from telling you.  Good luck with this fantastic novel.

thanks blackjack it was ghost written. Elsie I'll know you cause it's you. Peter, cheers mate your help has been invaluable.

I read the extract on the Unbound site and I can see why you are so highly thought of as a writer.  I must admit to being a little bit afraid of you as you commented on something of mine in what I thought at the time was quite harsh  terms so I have kept my distance.  But I'm over it now and you were probably right in any event.  However, I always wanted to read some of your work but got too far behind with your long stories so haven't commented much because I have only read a couple of pieces.  After reading the short extract of Lily Poole  I intend to rectify this as soon as I can.

Moya

difficult Moya, I try and be helpful and certainly try not to be  harsh, but critical in terms of what I think the story should need. It's not personal, but we all write and re-write stories in the image of ourselves. A good editor will take what is good and reject the suggestions that don't suit them.

Yes, I knew you were trying to be helpful and, I was probably being over sensitive but I took the work down and now I'm glad I did.as TVR helped me to re-work it.  You were right, It was rubbish as it stood and if one wants to improve as a writer, which I do, then  one shouldn't be over sensitive.  Anyway, it was a lesson I needed to learn.

I wish you every success  with LIly  Poole,

Moya

thanks Moya. I never say a work is rubbish unless I'm talking about my own writing.

No celt, you didn't say it was rubbish that was my description after I took another look.  It was the first thing I had ever written to completion and I had followed the advice of two writers who had set up a writing school the name of which escapes me, but the writers were Vince Powell and George Evans.  Either way it matters not now.

Onwards and upwards as they say.

Moya

Will Todger  or any UFO's   hovering about feature in this Unbound tale?

Regards

torscot

I'll scoot over and see if I can dig up a few Todgers torscott.

Yeah, I agree with Torscot a Todger addition might be well advised lol.

ah, old todger and bill and the ufo, makes me all nostalgic.

HI Jack

You have nice dimples which show up on the video, and after four times playing it through, I managed to understand most of it, and was very proud of myself.

it's a strange language English, especially with the glottal stops that don't.

hi Celticman i bought your book today and am looking forward to reading it. Good luck with it all.

Stephen d

steve I know you haven't very much money. Giving what little you have towards my book humbles me. Thanks.

Just seen this, love the honest exchange between Jack and Moya, Moya, don't ever be scared of him, darlin`, he's a soft, kind, loveable pussycat and one of the nicest people I know. It's the accent that makes him seem harsh.

Done mu bit Jack .. and wish you every sucess with this.

I am harsh and mean, but your loveliness and kindness has made me all wobbly and a bit stupid. I must admit to being bored with the whole escapade now - and as for doing your bit you edited about 50K words and I should have paid you hundreds of pounds (or bought you a cheese and pickle) but well I'll just thank you again.
